Floods suck and Skunks stink

Floods suck and Skunks stink

April 24, 2014 by

Well it's a flood again at our Valley River lodge. Water over the banks, rolling around past the dike. Thankfully we have the dike, or we wouldn't be here.

My main concern was how well the lodge basement sump pumps would work. I am happy to say that so far, my plan is working and 2 sump pits was a smart decision being so close to the river at flood time.

Flooding always causes other concerns though. Such as roads washed out, soft spots on the driveway, damage to surrounding yard and trees, CRITTERS ALL LOOKING FOR A HIGH AND DRY SPOT!!!!!

Just finfished washing the dogs with our SKUNK concoction!!! Dam does that stink, and of course it is worse around the face and head of the dog, so it is hard to wash it properly wothout getting it in the eyes.

Next it will be,,,,,, DEAD CARP!!! Yup, the land locked fish will die and rot, surely to be found by my dogs who will bring them back to the yard to chew on, and as a trophy.

Could be worse, but floods suck.
