No flood this spring
Built a monster sized dike around our Valley River property, but we didn't need it this year. YET i suppose, as it can snow and rain a bunch and cause things to swell. There is still ice on the river and the lake. Not safe ice but still coered as there is no real flow of water. What a difference from last spring!!!!!!!!! Totally opposite scenario this year. Last year i thought our buildings would wash away and our property was under water most of the year. This year so far, not enough run off water to even move the ice on the river. I'll take it, even though i am curiuos to see the dike do it's job, but i am sure we will get the chance one day.
On the other hand, "they" are predicting a dry summer. This is bad for farmers and for bird hunters as there needs to be a crop to feed the people and the birds! Last year was poor with so much flooded land and unseeded acres. Hopefully things are better this year.
Fingers crossed, summer comes early, and just the right amount of rain and sun shine.
