Carp Bow Hunting - Manitoba, Canada
Carp Bowfishing is an exciting sport for bow hunters and fisherman alike.
In late spring to early fall, normal downtime for hunting, there is a very large fish that frequents shallow water along shorelines and bays. It is a very strong, heavy muscled bottom feeder known as the Carp.
We spend some time not only angling for them with large rod and reel, but hunting them as well. We generally set up in the shallows and either slowly push our boat around or wait for schools of them to swim by.
Chumming with bait is good way to concentrate them for hunting and fishing.
The weapons used are typical hunting bows armed with fishing arrows and a spool for the string attached to the arrow. Upon being hit these mammoths explode into a frenzy and you must take care not get caught up in the string because they are powerful.
The weather is usually very pleasant during this time of year.
We offer hunts from the lodge and also from our Outcamps where you can stay in a real wilderness camp with a camp guide.
If you would like more info on these trips, give us a call or book online for your next hunting trip.

I feel compelled to write about some of these topics for.....
